Fair Ways in Bloom

Today is the first day of astronomical summer so what better day to update you all on our Fair Ways in Bloom 2021 competition. Our staff and service users are in full gardening mode, and are getting ready to impress our judges with their green spaces and blooming creations.  

Fair Ways in Bloom is an annual, company-wide competition that encourages our services get a breath of fresh air, connect with nature and create some beautiful green spaces for them to enjoy. The friendly competition is also a chance for the staff and service users to partake and bond over a shared activity and for them to learn new life skills.

This year there is nine categories meaning there is a chance for everyone to get involved and win some prizes, the categories in the competition are:

• Fair Ways in Bloom Champion
• Design and Planning Award
• Best Presentation Award
• Innovation Award
• Sustainability Award
• Young Person / Service User involvement Award  
• Best Hanging Basket Award
• Tallest Sunflower Award
• Local Community Award

We are already halfway through the event now and have received some lovely updates from staff about how the projects are going. We have received news of fruit trees being planted, plans being carefully crafted and even our services with no outdoor space adding windowsill gardens and hanging baskets to their offices.

We are so proud to see the staff, young people and families we care for are all getting involved and  enjoying themselves and can’t wait to share with you their entries in a couple of weeks time
