A feel good blog for Christmas, read all about our success with this year’s Christmas backpack appeal.
Fair Ways service users and staff from our Schools and residential services, as well as staff from our fostering service and head office team, managed to fill 205 backpacks for the homeless in the Solent area this Christmas. Helping the less fortunate and giving back this Christmas is a cause we are so proud our looked after children, who themselves have faced many hardships, got behind and supported so generosity.
These backpacks were all filled with essential items, warm clothing, and food that many of us would take for granted at this time of the year. The generosity from all involved meant we were able to smash our original target of 172 for The Society of St James.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Our partners who helped make this years appeal a success. Firstly Park School who’s pupils and staff also donated many items to help fill these bags. Next, Snows group lexus who donated a large sum of money that covered the cost of the backpacks. In addition to this we want to thank Georgia and the Portsmouth Soccer Scholar academy who donated Christmas gifts to make the backpacks even more special this year.
What is clear is that there are many local companies who want to give back to their communities as part of their corporate social responsibility. As a charity owned organisation ourselves we are very proud they choose to partner with us to help them do this and look forward to helping many more local companies in future projects give back to the many charities we support.
We would like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year
Best wishes, Fair Ways
