Celebrating Halloween and Fireworks Night with Fair Ways

Celebrating Halloween and Fireworks Night with Fair Ways

Halloween at Fair Ways brought out the creative side of our young people and young adults in care, especially through our much-anticipated pumpkin competition! With nearly 50 incredible pumpkins submitted, our judges faced the delightful but difficult task of picking winners from a range of designs, from spooky to silly, painted to carved. The creativity on display was amazing, as everyone put their unique stamp on their pumpkins. We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s winners are the young people from our Swanwick Children’s Home! They brought a fantastic team spirit, working alongside staff to create unforgettable designs and moments that will be cherished.

Now, with Fireworks Night just around the corner, it’s time for a weekend full of light, colour, and celebrations. Here are a few local displays around Southampton and Portsmouth that we’d recommend for enjoying the magic of fireworks:

  1. Utilita Bowl Firework Party – This is a big annual event at Hampshire Cricket’s home stadium in Southampton, taking place on Friday, November 1st. It includes family-friendly entertainment, food stalls, and a brilliant fireworks display.

Whether attending in a big group or a smaller one, here are some quick tips for enjoying the displays and staying cozy:

  1. Bundle Up: Layers are your friend for a November evening, so don’t forget hats and gloves!
  2. Bring Blankets & Warm Drinks: A flask of hot chocolate or tea will go a long way in keeping everyone warm.
  3. Get There Early: Arriving early means finding the perfect viewing spot without the rush.
  4. Protect Ears: Ear defenders can be a great idea for anyone sensitive to loud sounds.

We hope everyone has a fantastic Fireworks Night and enjoys this time together with friends, family, and Fair Ways! To find out more about Fostering with Fair Ways get in touch with our friendly team here.
