Designed around our students
We call the Fair Ways Education curriculum our ‘Whole School Curriculum’. This is designed to be sufficiently flexible to meet the individual needs of all our students. All activities that take place during the school day are part of our ‘Whole School Curriculum’.
National Standards
For our students aged 11-16 years old, we have developed an assessment model which combines the National Curriculum, Social, Moral, Spiritual Cultural (SMSC) and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Life Skills.
Focussing on students needs
Our curriculum is designed to address the individual developmental, sensory, physical, personal, social, emotional and communications needs of the students. We offer a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to each student as part of our whole school approach to educational entitlement.
Education Plans
Each student has a Specific Education Targets provided for all subject areas and an Individual Education Plan (IEP). The IEP is designed to ensure all aspects of the student's education is being targeted and developed. These are formulated by the teacher, in consultation with parents, social workers and outside agencies and incorporate educational and therapeutic support. The plan contains individual objectives and targets, which are regularly monitored and updated.
Keeping you up to date
Students progress is reviewed through teacher assessment and is reported formally via School Reports, Review Meetings, End of Placement Reports and Statutory Review Reports.
